Smaardyk Center Multimedia Studio
The Smaardyk Center Multimedia Studio is located in Cunningham 205 and designed for video production projects that anyone on campus can create. Video production can be accomplished with one to two people (a speaker and a technician). A one-person production is possible if only one camera is used.
The studio consists of a control room and a studio. It includes features such as multiple cameras and sources (overhead podium camera, laptop screens, and DVD/Blu Ray). There is a green screen that allows producers to digitally input still or video images into the background.
The Communication Department currently uses the studio in multiple classes, and students in the program learn how to create video content in pre recorded and live sessions.
All faculty and staff are welcome to use the room after completing a two-hour training session. Contact Alicia Wireman to arrange a training session or to reserve the room.
All students are welcome to use the room after completing a two-hour training session. They must have a faculty or staff member present at all times that the studio is being used. Students wishing to use the studio must get a faculty or staff member to reserve the room on their behalf.
