Bio

Dr. Yang joined Indiana Tech in September 2024. Prior to this, she served as the Chair and Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at Fairfield University from 2022 to 2024. At Purdue University Northwest from 2005-2022, she was a Computer Engineering professor and served as Faculty Fellow for Academic Affairs, Graduate Director of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Chair of the University Research Board. Before her time at Purdue University Northwest, Dr. Yang was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Software Engineering at Lakehead University in Canada from 2003 to 2005. She began her academic career as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Ottawa from 2002 to 2003.

Dr. Yang has authored a book with Springer and published over 80 papers in peer-reviewed journals and international conference proceedings. Her research has attracted funding from prestigious sources, including the National Science Foundation (NSF), NASA, Connecticut Higher Education Tech Talent Grant, the Indiana Commission for Higher Education, the Northwest Indiana Computational Grid Grant, the Verizon Foundation, and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), in addition to grants from Purdue University and the Purdue University Research Foundation.
