Supply Chain Management, B.S.

A Bachelor of Science in Supply Chain Management from Indiana Tech provides students with a background for the design and management of supply chains including qualitative and quantitative modeling of supply chain systems. The program focuses on the development of technical and analytical skills, leadership and communication proficiency.

Students will learn to identify and solve complex supply chain problems and demonstrate heightened levels of proficiency in the investigation of complex problems grounded in mathematics, computer science, business, decision science and engineering. In addition, students will learn techniques used to formulate solutions that meet specified needs with regard to public health, safety and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental and economic considerations.

Student Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the Bachelor of Science in Supply Chain Management, you will be able to:

  • Exemplify critical thinking skills and demonstrate an ability to obtain and process qualitative and quantitative information to make data driven decisions focused on solving supply chain management problems
  • Apply decision-support tools to business decision making and illustrate analytical mastery of content knowledge in problem solving
  • Deliver effective and professional communications using a variety of delivery venues
  • Apply strategic planning skills to effect change initiatives under supply chain management circumstances within the business context
  • Contribute to the development of high performing teams and collaborative working environments

Concentrations

Data Analytics

The data analytics concentration helps students build quantitative skills grounded in empirical research and management science. Students will learn how to analyze a mix of feasibilities, constraints and costs used to make data- driven decisions. They will also learn the fundamentals of programming, data analytics and machine learning. This concentration features a curriculum that develops rational thought and intuitive insight to resolve management concerns such as cost, production and service levels.

Quality Management

The quality management concentration helps students develop skills focused on quality, continuous improvement and sustainability. The curriculum will teach students how to create and execute quality and assurance strategy and will build the student’s qualitative skills used in the interrelationships between employees, customers and vendors. Students will become proficient in the evaluation of qualitative information and will develop an expertise in quality management, industry cycles, business to business relationships and labor relations.
