First Wednesdays

James Khan
James Khan, President, ObiCai Restaurant Management

James Khan is a proud husband, father, and the majority owner of Baker Street Steakhouse, The Hoppy Gnome, Gnometown Brewing Company, Proximo, and B1 Real Estate Development. James started his career in the engineering field but found his calling while working part-time in the hospitality industry. Working his way up to management, he was offered an opportunity to take over a failing restaurant and that launched his multi-business career.

In 2021 James was elected to the Regional Development Authority Board by the Mayors and Commissioners of Northeast Indiana. His truest passion lies in helping others, both professionally and personally. If he isn’t at work or with his family, there is a chance you could find James looking through the trees adjacent to Fort Wayne’s golf courses for his golf ball or sulking following most Purdue sporting events.

Edwin Chow
Edwin Chow, Owner Summit City Climbing Co.

Edwin Chow answers to a lot of titles: Army officer, Ironman, landlord, boss, and the Ice Cream Guy. He owns Fort Wayne’s first climbing gym and an ice cream shop at Electric Works. He’s also a youth leader at City Church, rents out Airbnbs on the side, and somehow still works full-time at the world’s largest remote tech company. Basically, if you’ve ever wondered how many jobs one person can juggle – Edwin is testing the limits.

If you’ve ever felt overcommitted, pulled in too many directions, or unsure what’s truly worth your “yes,” this talk is your chance to build a filter – so you can cut out the noise, say no with confidence, and finally say yes to what really matters.

Attendees will walk away challenged to embrace hard seasons, commit to continual learning, and able to start writing their own code for enduring success.

Evan Wood, PhD serves as Vice President, People & Strategy at Fort Wayne Metals Research Products Corp. where he leads the People Operations, Business Excellence/Continuous Improvement and Strategy functions. Prior to Fort Wayne Metals, Even developed a consulting practice in 2004 that was focused on management and management team development as well as strategic thinking and organizational change. He also previously served on the faculty of Taylor University, worked in product and process development, and worked in both training and IT.

Whitney Bandemer
Whitney Bandemer, Principal at WB Consulting, LLC

Whitney Bandemer is a recovering Lawyer, organizational architect, experienced people leader, and creator of Lead Boldly Learnings. She brings deep expertise is governance, organizational transformation, and leadership development, helping leadership teams drive performance and manage risk. Advising Fortune 500 companies and nonprofits on HR transformation, executive development, and strategic planning are part of her past experiences.

Ms. Bandemer currently sserves on the boards of Benchmark Human Services, Indiana Institute of Technology, Don Wood Foundation (charir), and the AWS Foundation (chair). Previously, Whitney helpd senior leadership roles at Manchester Unitversity, Trine University and the Appalachian College of Pharmacy. She was named a 2025 Champion of Change by Greater Fort Wayne Inc.
