Nap Smart: When Naps Help—and When They Hurt

Wednesday, January 21, 12-1 pm
Magee-O’Connor Theater
Andorfer Commons

Gina Kraft
Dr. Gina Kraft, Associate Professor of Exercise Science

Ever wake up from a nap feeling worse than before? This session breaks down the science of napping to explain why that happens—and how to avoid it. Using current sleep research, we’ll explore when naps can improve focus, learning, and recovery, when they can backfire, and how factors like timing and duration matter. Participants will leave with practical, evidence-based strategies for napping smarter without disrupting nighttime sleep.

Future dates include: February 18, March 18, and April 15. Speaker topics will be announced.
