It is a privilege to be a member of the Indiana Tech family. I am a recent graduate from Tech, with a business administration – human resources degree. I graduated in May 2015, and during my four years, I had multiple internships, received several leadership awards and was part of the university honor’s programs. One of my biggest accomplishments was being named one of the top 10 human resource students in the nation by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

A little background about myself: Before coming to college, I was not your normal student. I never did homework in high school, rarely studied and was the girl that was only looking to have fun rather than hit the books. When I decided to come to Indiana Tech, I realized I couldn’t be that kind of student anymore. I changed my life around and went from a below-average student in high school to graduating number one in Indiana Tech’s College of Business.

Indiana Tech’s vision states that it is “dedicated to preparing our students for professional and personal success in the real world.” In my case, Indiana Tech achieved that mission. I held six different internships throughout my four years at Tech. Before graduation, I received offers from several of the companies I interned with and accepted a full-time human resources generalist position within Steel Dynamics in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Not only did Indiana Tech provide an exceptional, career-focused education for me, but it motivated me toward a life of significance. The professors really cared about my success and they provided personal attention to help me be successful. I couldn’t imagine where I would be if I went to a school where I was just a number. At Indiana Tech, you are more than a number; you are a student who is on a path to greatness. I could have never accomplished what I have thus far without my degree, and I am continuing my education with Indiana Tech this fall. Give Indiana Tech a try and you will not be sorry!
